Bratislava, 23rd September 2024 - TrollWall AI has announced its new partnership with the Apolitical Foundation, aimed to help protect women politicians from online violence by leveraging its AI-powered solutions to remove hateful, toxic and vulgar comments, for safer, more respectful digital discourse.
This marks TrollWall AI’s first venture into Latin America, utilizing its Spanish-language model to initially support women politicians in Mexico and Argentina, with plans to expand into more countries.
With online platforms becoming vital arenas for political engagement, women political leaders face unprecedented levels of violence and harassment that not only threaten their personal safety, but also undermine their democratic participation.
As a global nonprofit dedicated to equipping transformative, talented political leaders, the Apolitical Foundation champions political leadership by reimagining political systems, embedding promising practices, and fostering global partnerships and networks through thought leadership and convenings.
Together with TrollWall AI, this partnership will provide crucial tools such as real-time AI-powered content moderation and further resources to help women politicians address and navigate toxic online environments, fostering safer, more supportive digital spaces for women in politics - allowing them to engage with their communities without fear of hate or harassment.
"At TrollWall AI, we have taken pride in combating online hate speech via our AI-powered solutions. We have achieved significant success in protecting women politicians in Europe from hateful, vulgar, and misogynistic comments, which has contributed to fostering a more democratic online political discourse,” said Tomáš Halász, Co-Founder & CEO, TrollWall AI. “Now, in partnership with the Apolitical Foundation, we are honored to extend our solutions to benefit even more politicians in Latin America. The Apolitical Foundation is a recognized leader in advocating for the well-being in the political arena, and we are proud to support their mission."
Speaking about the partnership, Suki Capobianco, Chief Strategy Officer at Apolitical Foundation, adds, “Our research on the mental wellbeing of politicians reveals that they have lower mental wellbeing than emergency-service employees. Providing them with tools like TrollWall AI’s real-time AI-powered content moderation is an important step towards more safety in political office. We are very excited about piloting this work in Latin America and better understanding the impact and scale of online violence against women politicians.”
